Rules & Regulations

Rules & Regulations Breakdown

  • Each individual or team must submit an Expression of Interest by February 16, 2022, to participate in a challenge.

  • Any individual, group of individuals, company or academic institutions (the ‘team’) can register to participate in one or more of the NexStream Challenges. Campbell River Area Angel Group (CRAAG) reserves the right to disqualify any submission for any reason or for no reason.

Interested parties must submit an Expression of Interest in order to be considered for a contest. Criteria for specific Challenge Submissions are outlined on each of the Current Challenge pages. Submissions must include a statement of qualifications as well as an executive summary of concept / design of the solution to the challenge. Additionally, a draft business plan will be required with each submission.

Team member qualifications such as engineering or science degrees, as well as documented experience, will be considered by the Selection Panel in the selection process. Teams are therefore welcomed to submit CVs of team members.

Our expectation is that your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on Campbell River and it’s surrounding area. We expect the funds to be used in ways that will further your ability to build a business around your challenge solution. Your work should meaningfully and directly impact the economy in the Campbell River area and scoring criteria in the challenges reflect this requirement.

Contest winners must be prepared to incorporate a recipient entity corporation or partnership with significant representation by the team members, in order to receive the award.

  • Judging will be done by the Selection Panel. The Selection Panel will be appointed by CRAAG and may include CRAAG members as well as external experts and affected parties as CRAAG deems appropriate.

The award consideration process will include not only review of written submissions but also in-person presentations of concepts/designs, along with face-to-face interviews with members of CRAAG and the CR Advisory Council. Both quantitative and qualitative criteria will be used to evaluate all submissions. Specific criteria will be provided after Expressions of Interest have been submitted.

  • Prospective applicants should review the general Rules and Regulations listed above, as well as the challenge-specific guidelines, terms and requirements on the Current Challenges pages. In the case of any conflicts between Rules and Regulations listed here or on a specific Challenge page, resolution is solely at the discretion of Campbell River Area Angel Group.
